CARLSTADT, N.J. - July 26, 2004 - Pantone, Inc., the global authority on color and provider of professional color standards for the design industries, has unveiled the most directional color palettes for the home for 2005.

In 2005, the world of home furnishings will continue to support the notion of "home as haven," while administering doses of whimsy and imagination for balance.

"While home as a retreat and safe harbor still resonates for many, there is also the realization that fantasy and fun are equally important," explained Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. "The one-size-fits-all mentality is a dinosaur."

Home 2005\'s retro-fantasy offerings include colors and color combinations from the \'40s, \'50s and \'60s. Increased attention is paid to textures and finishes. Keywords for 2005 range from "capricious," "dazzling" and "exhilarating" to "organic," "sophisticated" and "refined."

The eight Rs - Réalité, Refresh, Radiance, Relax, RePlay, Respite, Recurrents and Refinements - constitute the most directional color palettes for the home for 2005.
