SPRING LIFESTYLES

Just northeast of downtown Pittsburgh, you’ll find the Strip District, aka "The Strip.”

Although small in size (0.5 square miles) The Strip has plenty to offer and is the perfect destination for a day of family fun.

If you traveled back in time to the 1800s, you’d find The Strip teeming with industry. In fact, famed industrialists Andrew Carnegie and George Westinghouse found their fortunes here. Today it’s known for its retail produce and ethnicfood stores, as well as its restaurants, nightlife, and cultural amenities.

The seven-story Senator John Heinz Pittsburgh Regional History Centeron Smallman Street celebrates the city’s proud and rich heritage. Piruet over to Liberty Avenue, and you’ll find the accomplished Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre.

Looking for a bite to eat? The Strip offers everything fromfine Italian cuisine to fresh seafood. The Strip is also home to Pittsburgh staples, such as the iconic Pennsylvania Macaroni Company (aka, Penn Mac)

Wholey's (pronounced “WOOL-lees”) fish market, Pamela’s P&G Diner (heavenly hotcakes), the Smallman Street Deli, and, of course, the legendary Primanti Brothers.
