History of Atria's
Joe Atria came to America with a dream to run his own business and provide for his family. This dream began to take place when he bought a piece of property in Mt. Lebanon and started his own grocery store on the site of the flagship Atria's. In the 1930's, Joe expanded the business to include a barbershop and dry cleaning store, becoming an integral part of the Mt. Lebanon community.

In 1933, with the end of prohibition, Joe saw a golden opportunity and transformed the neighborhood store into a beer garden that sold six packs to go. When a liquor license became available, the store changed once again, only this time into a full-scale neighborhood bar serving food. Since the late 1930's, Atria's has been the local “watering hole” for people from all walks of life. It became a place to unwind after a hard day's work!
In 1998, Joe Atria sold the restaurant to Pat McDonnell and Frank Puskarich, two Pittsburghers and local restaurateurs. Currently, they have eight locations in the Pittsburgh area. Each restaurant was built upon the guiding principles of Atria's. Just as no neighborhood is exactly the same, no Atria's is like the next. As they continue to grow and move into new neighborhoods, they will always be the place to meet your family for dinner and catch up with old friends!
