FALL LIFESTYLES: FALL FESTIVALS

Autumn is a wonderful time to experience some of the incredible festivals you’ll find at farms all around Western PA. As the leaves begin to change colors there isn’t a better place to celebrate the season than at a working family farm. Take this opportunity to enjoy the “harvest;” it will be an experience you and your children will never forget. Plan a day trip with the family to one of the many fall festivals around your area and enjoy outdoor fun, such as picking your own pumpkins straight from the patch.

Most fall festivals offer free admission and include hayrides, cornstalk mazes, live farm animals, pony rides, concessions and face painting. Some even offer live music. The food varies from farm to farm, with some offering basic food and others offering an incredible variety of choices. Call in advance to see what they have. Some farms even offer fresh baked pies, fudge and other gourmet desserts. Most fall festivals are only open during the weekends, so be sure to check before you go.

Western Pennsylvania is a fantastic place to celebrate the four seasons. This year welcome the autumn season by visiting a local fall festival. We’re sure it will turn into a yearly family tradition.
