SIX SCENIC FALL DRIVES
Route 18 - Raccoon State Park to Waynesburg
Enjoy the fall fireworks in Pennsylvania’s southwestern corner with this driving tour that begins at the beautiful 7000 acre Raccoon State Park and meanders 58 miles south through rolling hills and miles of farmland on PA SR 18.
New Castle to Slippery Rock
Top off this 16-mile driving tour on PA SR 108 from historic New Castle to Slippery Rock, with a stop at the beautiful old grist mill at McConnell’s Mill State Park.
The Lincoln Highway
If you want to make a day of it, then this beautiful 76-mile fall drive through Pennsylvania’s Heritage Corridor may be just the ticket. Forts, caverns, state parks and Old Bedford Village are interesting stops along the way.
The Laurel Highlands
For the best variety of trees and foliage, try this tour through Pennsylvania’s Southern Laurel Highlands. Ohiopyle State Park, the gorgeous Youghiogheny River and Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater are all don’t miss stops.
Elk & Clinton County Scenic Loop
A favorite loop for many foliage fanatics, this drive takes about 2 hours and goes right through the heart of Pennsylvania’s elk herd (autumn is a particularly good time to hear the bugle call of the elk).
Longhouse Scenic Drive - Allegheny Reservoir
One of the most scenic roads in Pennsylvania, the Longhouse National Scenic Byway was built specifically for tourists and offers stunning fall views of the Allegheny National Forest, Kinzua Bay and the Kinzua Dam.
