A Good Deed Indeed!
Golf Greens "Fore" U's Good Deed Brightens Saddened Hearts

One of television's most anticipated shows is ABC's "Extreme Makeover - Home Edition."

The twelfth show featured the Cadigan-Scott family, who not only lost their mother, Diane, as a result of a heart problem in June of 2003, but their father, Mark, 16 days later from a heart attack. The eight children were left behind to not only grieve an unbelievable loss, but to now fend completely for themselves.

So the family could stay together, the two oldest siblings Jennifer, 23 and Janice, 21 moved back home and gained legal guardianship of the other six brothers and sisters, Daniel, 20, Kelly, 20, Rachel, 18, Jackie, 16, Dolly, 14 and twelve-year-old Teresa.

The family received support from local police, firefighters, church members, teachers and business leaders who aimed to raise enough money to help remodel this grief-stricken family's home. Even Ty Pennington performed a free one-man concert to help fund the remodeling project.

The funding was underway, but the biggest challenge was yet to come. Who would actually have the expertise and know-with-all to not only redesign the Cadigan-Scott house into a more spacious and functional dwelling, but to restore the once-happy family home into a place of joy again?

"Extreme Makeover-Home Edition" to the rescue!

The design team's number one priority was to give the family more room. A larger bathroom, kitchen and living space were the practical and main objectives. It was the luxurious renovations on the landscaping and the exterior of the home, however, that took the project to the next level.

Both parents were avid golfers. Danny, the only son, is an avid golfer and he was the one who had requested a backyard putting green! Golf Greens "Fore" U then transformed the backyard into a virtual paradise.

The company specializes in installing backyard custom putting greens. The putting surfaces come complete with slopes and contours. The speed of the green is even set to fit the needs and playing ability of each client. Professional landscapers blend the newly installed putting green into your existing landscaping, or they can completely transform your yard into your own private golf course, as featured on "Extreme Makeover - Home Edition."

These lawn solutions require no watering, fertilizing, weed repelling or pesticides. Along with looking like the real thing, the blades are soft and flexible and react just like real grass when walked upon. The surface is designed to withstand the heaviest of downpours and the driest droughts, all the while maintaining it's "just cut" green lawn appearance.

The surfaces are also used in many areas as an alternative to natural grass. They have even designed and installed complete soccer fields and backyards as well.

Golf Greens "Fore" U is one of the most reputable synthetic greens suppliers on the market and can be seen on ESPN and the Golf Channel. In fact, they are the official golf green provider to the Golf Channel's "Academy Live."

It's doubtful that you or your family members will become members of the LPGA or PGA TOUR just by having a putting green in your backyard, but it wouldn't hurt to try. The Cadigan-Scott family's backyard transformation was truly astonishing, it makes you think what you could accomplish in your own backyard.
